General Assessment Procedures |
Attendance is mandatory for 80% of the total hours in each module. For laboratory-based and practical simulation modules, 100% attendance is required, as full participation is essential for acquiring hands-on technical skills and competencies. Failure to meet the attendance requirements will result in an inability to participate in the module assessments. All absences must be justified with appropriate documentation, as outlined in the EIMS QA police. All assessments, including for resits as per below, shall be approved by the EIMS Academic Board, as per the EIMS QA Policy. All Assessments will be used in the appropriate units as indicated. As part of its quality assurance (QA) function, the EIMS Academic Board will request evidence from each course assessor to ensure that the range and level of difficulty of the written items being submitted are appropriate and align with international dental course assessment requirements and practices. |

Summative – Formative Assessments
|
Summative – Formative Assessments |
Summative Assessments: |
AF1s – AF2s – Examinations are summative assessments used to determine if students have achieved the required competencies to progress through the course or to graduate. |
Formative Assessments: |
These are ongoing evaluations conducted throughout the program to provide feedback and guide students’ progress. These assessments include quizzes, reflective journals, peer assessments, and discussions. Formative assessments support continuous learning and improvement but do not directly contribute to final grades. |
