COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course is aimed at dentists, physiatrists, orthopedic doctors, physiotherapists, osteopaths, posturologists and kinesiologists with the aim of making known the oral physiology in a complete and modern way in order to obtain effective and agreed communication on patient management with gnathological dysfunction
The aim of the course is to introduce dentists, physiatrists and orthopedists, physiotherapists, osteopaths, posturologists and kinesiologists in a complete and modern way to the physiology of the stomatognathic system, in order to obtain an effective and agreed communication on the management of the dysfunctional patient. The condition of healthy occlusion is finally clear and easily identifiable both from a dental and postural point of view. Knowledge of the 4 Planas development laws enables the trainee to recognize dysfunctions even before they have caused alterations or postural compensations. The knowledge of the neurophysiological mechanisms of the masticatory cycle and of walking explains how and why an altered chewing can cause pathologies, both of the stomatognathic system and of the whole organism.
The participant will become familiar with the 4 development laws of Planas; it will allow him to recognize dysfunctions even before they have caused alterations or postural compensations. Knowledge of the neurophysiological mechanisms of the masticatory cycle and walking will explain how and why impaired chewing can cause pathologies, both of the stomatognathic system and of the whole organism.
After each theoretical lesson, the student will have to apply the data learned by producing essays written with their own words, or make schematic drawings or produce simple artifacts with plasticine and waxes or modify plaster models on the articulator. This phase of individual verification constitutes the moment of evaluation, by the supervisor, of the learning transmitted to the student in order to be able to simultaneously and individually clarify any misunderstandings or partial duplications of the course contents.
